Type "A" polypropylene 1 1/4 inch male camlock (Cam & Groove) coupler to 1 1/4 inch female NPT threads.
Under no circumstances should cam and groove couplings be used for compressed air or steam service!
Connections
- The male side of this adapter will only connect to 1 1/4 inch female camlock
- The female threaded side of this adapter will only connect to a 1 1/4 inch male National Pipe Tapered (NPT) thread
British Standard Pipe (BSP) can be most commonly found in Canada, UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. It is a finer thread than National Pipe Thread (NPT), and will not seal properly if used in conjunction with it.
Two types of threads are used
- British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) and British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP). British Standard Pipe Taper uses a tapered thread system, and sealant is provided to help secure the male and female connection.
- British Standard Pipe Parallel uses a parallel thread system, and a rubber gasket is often included to secure the male and female connection.
Warning: Polypropylene cam & groove should not be mixed with metal fittings. We recommend using polypropylene with other poly, plastic, pvc, banjo type camlock fittings.
How it works
- To make a connection, simply slide the camlock adapter into the camlock coupling and with normal hand pressure, press the cam levers down.
- Uncoupling is as quick and simple as coupling. Just lift the cam arms and remove the adapter.
Cam and groove couplings, also called camlock fittings or quick connect fittings, are used in most industries as a hose connection to avoid leakage. The cam lock type of coupling is popular because it is considered to be a simple and economical way to reconnect and disconnect.
