Description

Our in stock potable water hoses are Made in the USA but assembled with imported couplings. If you require domestic couplings please call to place your order.

Our 1 1/2 inch Made in USA fire hose is manufactured to this specification shall meet and exceed all performance requirements of NFPA 1961 and Underwriter’s Laboratories standards. Hose shall be listed as an approved USA/ULC product. Manufactured to UL-19 standards as specified in "CFR 118.320 Fire Hoses and Nozzles".

NOTE: UL listed hoses are now stenciled. Rubber labels are now longer available. The most common 1 1/2 inch marine hose is coupled with brass NPSH threads. Please verify thread type before ordering.

Code of Federal Regulations Title 46, Part 118 - Fire Protection Equipment, Subpart C - Fire Main System, Section 188.320 Fire hoses and Nozzles

(a) A fire hose with a nozzle must be attached to each fire hydrant at all times. For fire hydrants located on open decks or cargo decks, where no protection is provided, hoses may be temporarily removed during heavy weather or cargo handling operations, respectively. Hoses so removed must be stored in nearby accessible locations.

(b) Each hose must:

(1) Be lined commercial fire hose that conforms to Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 19 “Lined Fire Hose and Hose Assemblies,” or hose that is listed and labeled by an independent laboratory recognized by the Commandant as being equivalent in performance;

(2) Be 15.25 meters (50 feet) in length and 40 millimeters (1.5 inches) in diameter; and

(3) Have fittings of brass or other suitable corrosion-resistant material that comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1963 “Fire Hose Connections,” or other standard specified by the Commandant.

(c) Each nozzle must either:

(1) Be of a type approved in accordance with approval series 162.027; or

(2) Be of type recognized by the Commandant as being equivalent in performance.

  • The female side of a NH / NST coupling will only connect to a male NH / NST connection
  • The male side of a NH / NST coupling will only connect to a female NH / NST connection
  • The female side of a NPSH coupling will only connect to a male NPT pipe or a male NPSH connection
  • The male side of a NPSH coupling will only connect to a female NPSH connection. It will NOT thread into a female NPT pipe. For example, a male NPSH coupling will NOT thread into a female metal or pvc pipe.
  • The female side of a garden hose will only connect to a male garden hose connection.
  • The male side of a garden hose will only connect to a female garden hose connection.

The most common thread type in use by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread. NST also goes by the initials NH or National Hose. It can even be referred to as NHT or National Hose Thread but NST or NH is more common these days. NH = NST

Warranty Information

Limited 1-Year Warranty

We will replace any fire hose with manufacturer defects in material and workmanship. All warranty claims must be returned to us for inspection before we determine a solution.

Our warranty does not cover gaskets, shipping cost, cosmetic damages, normal wear-and-tear, improper use or chemical damage.

Fire hoses purchased for use at Fire Training Facilities will have a 90-day Manufacturer Defect warranty only.

Upon receipt of the returned goods, hoses will be subject to inspection and testing.

Should it be determined that the hose is covered by warranty, it will be repaired or replaced.
